Overview
A body repair/painting shop is a shop which, in addition to making major or substantial repairs to the shell or body of an automobile, including frame-straightening, dent repair, and replacement or repair of parts, also performs any kind of painting of the vehicle. If no painting is to be done, see Auto Body Repair Garage License.
No license shall be issued to a body painting shop unless the building or portion of the building in which the business is operated has a spray paint booth or room which has been approved for use by the Fire Inspector.
The auto body repair / painting shop license includes auto body repair. However, this license does not include general auto repair. You must obtain a separate license for general auto repair.
