Online Scheduling Platform to be Replaced
The Department of Safety and Inspections (DSI) has experienced several service disruptions over the last year in its online scheduling platform for Electrical Inspections, creating inefficiencies for our customers and challenges to DSI's own customer service expectations. While we have worked with a third-party vendor to temporarily fix each issue as it arose, the platform no longer offers a viable option.
The City is now exploring improved customer-focused solutions to handle online inspection scheduling. We do not have a firm timetable for the new system to be installed; however we are committed to providing a solution consistent with our customer-service values.
Effective May 1, we ask that you call the inspector listed on your approved permit between the hours of 7:30 - 9:00 a.m. to schedule your electrical inspection request.
We recognize the frustration for our customers, our inspectors, and those who support our trades, and we apologize for any inconvenience.
