Project Details
Description
Saint Paul Public Works will address the current deteriorating street conditions along Summit Avenue in 2023. Summit Avenue from Lexington Parkway to Victoria Street and from Snelling Avenue to Mississippi River Boulevard will receive pavement treatment.
The drive lanes will be patched and skim paved where needed and the bike lanes and parking lanes will be pothole patched where needed. Skim paving involves putting down a thin layer of asphalt over the existing surface to seal a larger section of the drive lanes in the street. After skim paving, on-street lane markings will be refreshed only where needed.
This project is strictly a street surface maintenance project to address the conditions of the roadway in the short-term. This work will not address any of the underlying road conditions or utility replacement or reconstruction needed. It will not repair, replace, or change any sidewalks, gutters, or curbs.
The street will remain open to traffic as much as possible during this process, but delays and short-term closures will occur when necessary.
