Saint Paul Police Department homicide investigators are looking for the people who shot four outside a West Side funeral home Monday, Feb. 21.
Officers were summoned to the 400 block of Humboldt Avenue at about 11:20 a.m. on a report of multiple shots fired. When they arrived, four victims were located—a man believed to be in his 30s was struck in the neck; a man believed to be in his 20s was grazed in the face; a man believed to be in his 20s was shot in the abdomen, back and leg; and a 28-year-old man was mortally wounded.
Officers immediately began securing the scene and rendering aid. Saint Paul Fire medics were called and transported the victims to Regions Hospital, where the man who was shot in the abdomen, back and femur is listed in critical condition, the other two victims are being treated for their injuries, and the 28-year-old was pronounced dead.
Patrol officers are currently holding the scene while investigators with the police department’s homicide, video management and forensic services units respond to look for possible witnesses, find surveillance video and collect evidence.
As of Monday afternoon, no arrests have been made. Investigators do not believe the shooting was random.

The Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office will conduct an autopsy to determine the man’s exact cause of death and make an identification. This information, along with any updates in the case, will be released on the police department’s Twitter page, @sppdmn.
This is the eighth homicide this year in Saint Paul.
