Saint Paul homicide investigators are searching for the person or people responsible for a deadly shooting that occurred in the early evening in the city’s Frogtown neighborhood, Tuesday Jan. 18.
At about 5:30 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 300 block of Blair Avenue for a report of shots fired. When they arrived at the residence, they found a man outside the residence suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Officers secured the scene, attempted to render aid and called for Saint Paul Fire medics.
Saint Paul Fire medics arrive and transported the victim to Regions where he later died from his injuries.
Now, investigators with the police department’s homicide unit are working to locate any possible witnesses and determine who pulled the trigger. Members of the forensics services unit will process the area for evidence, and the video management unit will be canvassing the area for any available video surveillance.
As of Tuesday evening, no arrests have been made. No motive has been determined and investigators are working to determine what happened before, during and after the man was killed.

The Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office will conduct an autopsy to determine the man’s exact cause of death and positively identify him. The victim’s identity, along with any updates in the case, will be released on the police department’s Twitter page, @sppdmn.
This is the third homicide third year in Saint Paul.
