SAINT PAUL, MN (July 11, 2024) – The City of Saint Paul, in coordination with Ramsey County, anticipates reopening Shepard Road/Warner Road to vehicle, bicycle, and pedestrian traffic on Wednesday, July 17 after 6 p.m. Saint Paul and Ramsey County Public Works crews have cleared debris and inspected the road and its underlying structures to determine that the road can be reopened to all traffic.
In conjunction with the reopening of Shepard Road/Warner Road, Sibley and Jackson streets will also reopen from Shepard Road to Kellogg Boulevard to vehicle traffic.
Water Street, located along the south side of the Mississippi River, along with several park areas and facilities, will remain closed until the required inspection, testing, and cleanup has been completed. Shepard Road/Warner Road was closed on June 23 due to river flooding from several heavy storms. According to the National Weather Service, the Mississippi River water levels in Saint Paul unofficially crested at 20.17 feet on June 29, the eighth highest river crest on record for the city. River levels continue to decline and are currently below minor flood stage levels.
