City of Saint Paul and Ramsey County team up to offer expanded cross-country skiing options and new mutual ski passes
New machine-made snow trail, expanded rental locations, and additional groomed trails included with new mutual Saint Paul/Ramsey County cross-country ski passes
SAINT PAUL - The City of Saint Paul today announced a new five-year agreement with Ramsey County to offer a mutual ski pass in conjunction with expanded cross-country ski offerings throughout the city and county park systems. The new mutual ski passes provide access to 60K of groomed cross-country ski trails across nine Saint Paul and Ramsey County locations.
Highlights of the expanded offerings include:
- A new premier skiing facility at Battle Creek Regional Park West featuring machine-made snow and lighting, with chalet and rentals available at Battle Creek Recreation Center.
- New groomed 5K classic and skate ski trails at Highland National Golf Course, with a chalet facility and rentals available in the clubhouse.
- Skijoring, snowshoeing and dog sledding will now be allowed on the skate ski side of the 3.5K cross country trail at Highland 9 Golf Course. A fat tire biking trail will also be available on the perimeter of the golf course.
The mutual ski passes are available for purchase online through Ramsey County or in person at Como Park Ski Center, Battle Creek Recreation Center, Highland National Golf Course and Tamarak Nature Center. No cross-country ski pass is required for youth ages 12 and under.
- Natural snow pass - $35/year or $6/day
- Includes all City of Saint Paul and Ramsey County natural snow ski trails
- All-access pass - $15/day or $80/year and $40/year for each additional household member
- Includes lighted machine-made trails in the Battle Creek Regional Park West, and all City of Saint Paul and Ramsey County natural snow ski trails
Rentals are available for $12/day at Como Park Ski Center, Battle Creek Recreation Center, Highland National Golf Course and Tamarak Nature Center. Cross-country ski, downhill ski, and snowboard lessons are available at Como Park Ski Center, with registration opening Monday, November 21.
