Saint Paul police are investigating after a woman was found deceased on Sunday Feb. 21, in the city’s North End neighborhood. Officers were called to a townhome on the 1500 block of Jackson Street at about 2 p.m. to assist Saint Paul Fire medics, who had initially responded to a report of an overdose.
When officers arrived, they were led to the basement, where they located the victim, who appeared to have been assaulted. Officers secured the scene and called in members of the department’s Homicide and Forensic Services units, who began to process the scene for evidence.
Investigators have interviewed multiple people who were in the house when medics and officers arrived.
The Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office also responded and took possession of the victim’s body. An autopsy was conducted today, and the death has been classified a homicide.
Now investigators are searching for the person or people responsible for her death.
No arrests have been made, and investigators do not believe this was a random act. Anyone with information is asked to call homicide investigators at 651-266-5650.
The woman’s identity, along with any updates in the case, will be released on the police department’s Twitter page-@sppdmn.
This is the seventh homicide this year in Saint Paul.
