When they arrived, officers found an adult male in the home suffering from a possible gunshot injury. Saint Paul Fire medics responded and pronounced him dead.
Officers began to try to determine what occurred and secured the scene until members of the Homicide Unit and Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s office responded.
Through a thorough investigation, this man’s death was ruled a homicide. This investigation also revealed connections between the incident the previous night on White Bear Avenue where a man armed with a gun entered an occupied home and was arrested by members of the Saint Paul SWAT team. This man, Tevon King, 26, is now being held on suspicion of murder.
The Ramsey County medical examiner will conduct an autopsy to positively identify the victim and determine an exact cause of death. This information, along with any updates on the case, will be released on the Saint Paul Police Department Twitter account, @sppdmn.
This is the 17th homicide of the year in Saint Paul.
