A man who was shot Sunday night outside a Saint Paul bar died Monday morning—and now Saint Paul Police Department homicide investigators are looking for the person or people responsible for his death.
A 911 caller reported shots fired just after 11 p.m. Sunday, April 25 on the 1200 block of Jackson Street. Officers responded and found a man sitting on the ground suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. The officers rendered aid and called for St. Paul Fire medics, who quickly responded and transported the victim to Regions Hospital.
Sadly, the victim died at about 5:45 Monday morning.
Currently, the department’s Homicide Unit is looking for possible witnesses, and the Video Management Unit is collecting surveillance video.
No arrests have been made and a motive is unclear, although the victim’s vehicle appears to have been stolen after the shooting. Anyone with information about the case is asked to call 651-266-5650.
The Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office will conduct an autopsy to positively identify the victim and determine an exact cause of death. This information, along with any updates in the case, will be released on the police department’s Twitter page, @sppdmn.
This is the 12th homicide this year in Saint Paul.
