Two people have been arrested for second-degree murder after striking a man with their vehicle early Tuesday morning.
Saint Paul officers were sent to the intersection of Tenth Street East and Broadway Street at about 4:30 a.m. after a 911 caller reported seeing a body lying in the street. When officers arrived, they located a man in his 20’s, who was unresponsive and had severe head trauma.
Officers secured the scene, rendered aid, and called for St. Paul Fire medics. When medics arrived, they pronounced the man dead at the scene.
Homicide investigators responded to the scene and began working on the case. Forensic Services processed the scene for evidence. The Video Management Unit began looking for any video footage.
This afternoon, homicide investigators were able to locate and interview two suspects about the incident. Through the course of the investigation, it was determined the two suspects intentionally struck the victim with their vehicle.
Landis Rachel Hill, 31, and Christopher Dwayne Grayson, 31, were arrested this evening on suspicion of second-degree murder. Both are currently in the Ramsey County jail awaiting charges.
The Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office will conduct an autopsy to determine the man’s exact cause of death and positively identify him. That information, along with any updates in the case, will be released on the police department’s Twitter page, @sppdmn.
This is the 31st homicide of the year in the city.
