The Highland #2 and Highland #3 water towers on Snelling Avenue require repair and need to be re-painted. The planned work will prolong the life expectancy of the towers and improve water quality.
Work may include:
- Torch cutting and grinding of the surface
- Welding
- Reconditing the interior
- Replacing safety and access equipment
- Sandblasting
- Re-painting
Highland #2 Timeline
The Highland #2 work began in May 2024 and is expected to be completed in mid to late-August 2024. The contractor’s work hours are Monday – Friday 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., with some Saturday and Sunday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. work to be scheduled as needed.
Highland #2 Progress Update
Work progress as of June 17, 2024 on Highland #2 is as follows:
- Exterior sandblasting is complete
- Exterior painting is in progress
- Interior access equipment repair is in progress
Highland #3 Timeline
The Highland #3 work will take place in summer 2025 and include a similar scope of work to Highland #2.
