Current and Upcoming Bicycle Projects

1. 2025 Projects (list in progress)

   • Jackson St, University to Pennsylvania, shared use path 
   • University Ave, I-35E to Lafayette Rd, shared use path 
   • Lafayette Rd, Hwy 52 to Plato Blvd, shared use path
   • Kellogg Blvd, St Peter to W 7th, separated bike lane
   • Pleasant Ave/Victoria St, Jefferson to St Clair, shared use path
   • Front Avenue, from Dale Street to Rice Street - new striped bike lanes will be installed as part of the resurfacing project (resurfacing of Rice to Kent St). This project was originally scheduled for 2023, but was delayed to 2025.
   • Ruth Street, from Suburban Avenue to Stillwater Avenue - the existing striped bike lanes will remain with new pavement. In 2023, new curb ramps and pedestrian crossing improvements were added. The resurfacing and restriping was delayed to 2025.
   • Rice Street, Maryland Avenue to Wheelock Parkway - this project will reconstruct the street and add a new shared use path on the west side of the street.
   • Dale Street, Como Avenue to Larpenteur Avenue - This project will resurface Dale and add bike lanes from Hatch Avenue to Larpenteur Avenue.
   • Arcade St, Wheelock to Larpenteur, shared use path
   • Como Blvd, Arlington to Lakeview, bike boulevard

2. 2024 Saint Paul Resurfacing Projects

   The following streets will be resurfaced by the City of Saint Paul, presenting an opportunity for new or improved bicycle facilities.​

   • Concordia/Rondo, from Pascal to Western - one car travel lane removed and buffered bike lane added as part of 2024 resurfacing.

3. 2024 Saint Paul Reconstruction Projects​

   The following streets will be reconstructed by the City of Saint Paul, presenting an opportunity for new or improved bicycle facilities. 

   • Minnesota Street Reconstruction - This project will install a new separated bike lane from 6th Street to 11th Street in downtown. This continues the 2023 Minnesota Streer reconstruction from Kellogg Blvd to 6th St.
   • Annapolis Street Reconstruction - This project will reconstruct Annapolis from Humboldt Avenue to Kansas Avenue and install new bike lanes from Humboldt to Oakdale, and shared lanes from Oakdale to Kansas, where Annapolis narrows. It is being led by the City of West Saint Paul, and continues the 2023 reconstruction which added bike lanes on Annapolis from Smith to Humboldt.

4. 2024 Saint Paul Parks & Recreation Projects

   The following projects will be led by Saint Paul Parks & Recreation Department and will result in new or improved bicycle facilities. 

   • Fish Hatchery Trail - the project will reconstruct the shared use path of the Fish Hatchery Trail between Warner Road and Battle Creek Regional Park trailhead. 
   • Hamline Avenue, from Montreal Avenue to Highland Parkway - this project will add a new shared use path along the east side of Highland Golf Course.
   • Samuel Morgan Trail - the project will reconstruct the portions of Sam Morgan along Shepard Road between Elway and Randolph Ave, and Lower Landing Park and Highway 10/61.

5. 2024 Ramsey County Projects

   The following projects will be led by Ramsey County and will result in new or improved bicycle facilities. 

   • Larpenteur Avenue, Flandrau Street to Hazel Street - This project will reconstruct the street and create new bike lanes on a segment of Larpenteur. 

6. 2024 State Projects

   • Snelling Avenue, Montreal Avenue to Ford Parkway - this project will add a shared use path on the east side of the street.
