Event Details

The City of Saint Paul partners with local district councils to organize annual community drop-off events to help Saint Paul residents recycle appliances, electronics and other accepted materials. These events are open to Saint Paul residents only.

Events run from 8 am to 1 pm. Arrive early to make sure your items can be unloaded by 1 p.m. The entrance gate may close prior to 1 p.m. in order to serve those in line in a timely manner. Event staff may refuse any vehicle or materials.

2024 Dates and Locations

  • Saturday June 22, 2024 (8 am to 1 pm) at the Harding Senior High School parking lot
    • Enter from westbound 3rd St., entrance line starts at Germain St.
  • Saturday September 14, 2024 (8 am to 1 pm) at the MN State Fairgrounds
    • Enter from eastbound Larpenteur Ave to southbound Underwood St.

Items Accepted for Free

  • Electronics
    • Televisions & computer monitors
    • Computers & laptops
    • Computer accessories (mice, keyboards, speakers, etc.)
    • Cellphones & tablets
    • Chargers, adaptors, speakers & headphones
    • DVD players & VCR's, DVR's and Blu-Ray players
    • Gaming Consoles
    • Hard Drives
    • Printers
  • Small Engines (liquids removed)
    • Lawn mowers, snow blowers, chainsaws, etc.
  • Bikes
  • Cardboard (flattened)
  • Paper for shredding
  • Scrap metal
  • Mattresses & Box Springs (any size, foam or standard)
  • Textiles (must be washed, dried, and in a tied plastic bag)
    • Linens and clothing, including worn and torn items

Volunteers play an important role in the success of our event. Sign up to volunteer today!

Volunteers receive a voucher to dispose of one load of acceptable items for free. Typical volunteer jobs include: greeting attendees and tallying items brought to the event, traffic control, or light lifting.

Mattress Recycling

Bulky Items

Saint Paul residents living in 1-4 unit properties can have 2-3 items picked up at no additional charge, annually. Visit the City's webpage on Bulky Item Disposal Collection.
