About Lilydale Regional Park

Lilydale Regional Park features bluff and low-lying hiking and biking trails with scenic views along the Mississippi River. It is an excellent spot for birdwatching, hiking, biking, picnicking, kayaking, canoeing, and boating. A kayak/canoe launch is located on Pickerel Lake near the picnic shelter parking lot. Kayak rentals are available seasonally. Lilydale Regional Park also features a Mississippi River boat launch and dog park.

Amenities

Closures & Special Notices

Roads, trails, amenities, and sections of Lilydale Regional Park may be closed at times due to flooding, construction, restoration or other projects. Please obey all barriers and do not trespass into closed areas of the park. For updates and information, visit the Park Closures & Special Notices and the Public Works Road Closures page.

Dog Park

The Lilydale Regional Park dog park opened in 2022. There is a fenced area for large dogs and fenced area for small dogs. If you are traveling by car, park in the boat launch parking lot

Fossil Hunting

Requests for fossil hunting permits are not being accepted at this time. No fossil hunting allowed as fossil grounds are currently closed. Check the Permits and Rentals page for updates.

Kayak Launch and Rentals

Kayak Rentals are available seasonally at the Pickerel Lake canoe/kayak launch through Mississippi River Paddle Share. The canoe/kayak launch is located at the picnic shelter parking lot.

The Lilydale picnic shelter is non-reseravable and available first-come, first-served. For reservable picnic shelters and pavilions, visit the Permits and Rentals webpage.
