Member Requirements

Size: Seven members, two of which must be residents of public housing (one elderly representative and one family representative)

Saint Paul Residency: Required

Term:

  • Five years for non-tenant commissioners
  • Two years for elderly representative
  • Three years for family representative

Powers & Duties

The board sets policy for the PHA, which owns and manages almost 4,300 units of low-income housing with funding from HUD.

The PHA administers over 4,300 Section 8 rent subsidies (Housing Choice Vouchers and related programs) used in privately owned units.
