Member Requirements
Size: 13 members. All members shall have an interest/experience in historic preservation. If available, three members shall be registered architects and one member will be appointed by the Ramsey County Historical Society
Saint Paul Residency: City residency is required.

Powers & Duties
The purpose of the Commission is to safeguard the heritage of the City, protect and enhance the City's attraction, enhance the visual and aesthetic character, diversity, and interest of the City, foster civic pride, and promote the use and preservation of sites and districts for the education and general welfare of the people of Saint Paul. The Commission fulfills it's purpose by surveying and recommending designation of sites and districts and by providing design review of exterior changes, new construction, and demolition proposals. The Commission also provides education and advises the Mayor and City Council on heritage preservation matters and policy.
