As the second-largest municipal law office in Minnesota, the Saint Paul City Attorney’s Office dedicates its time to representing and defending the city and its employees, departments, boards, and committees.  

Our Criminal Division prosecutes misdemeanor and gross misdemeanor-level crimes; our Civil Division provides sound legal advice and representation to city officials, departments, boards, and commissions; and our Civil Litigation Division represents the city in civil lawsuits in state, federal, and appellate courts.

At the Saint Paul City Attorney’s Office, we cannot provide legal guidance or counsel to our residents. Rather, we represent the city and its employees, departments, boards, and committees in criminal, civil, and civil litigation cases.

Parking and Transit 

Our office is located at City Hall in Downtown Saint Paul. Street parking is available nearby, as is ramp parking. Nearby ramps include the Landmark Towers Parking Ramp, The Lowry Garage, and Victory Ramp. 

We are located two blocks west from the Green Line Central Station.
