Saint Paul police are investigating a shooting that left one man dead in the early morning hours of Tuesday, Jan. 15.
At approximately 8:30 p.m. on Monday Jan. 14, officers were dispatched to Regions Hospital on a report that an adult male victim suffering from apparent gunshot wounds was dropped off by a private vehicle. Regions staff attempted life-saving measures, but the victim died from his injuries early this morning.
Further investigation revealed the crime scene where this shooting occurred was in the alley behind 440 University Ave. W.
The departments Forensic Services Unit is processing the scene and investigators are canvassing the area looking for evidence and any witnesses. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call 651-266-5650.
The Ramsey County medical examiner will positively identify the victim and determine an exact cause of death. This information, along with any updates on the case, will be released on the Saint Paul Police Department Twitter account, @sppdmn.
