Saint Paul Snow Summit - October 5, 2024

Join us for the free Saint Paul Snow Summit on Saturday, October 5. This fun, free, family oriented event is geared to get Saint Paul residents ready for winter. Come celebrate all things snow in Saint Paul! We look forward to seeing you rain or shine. 

Prior to the Snow Summit, the City will host a free "Alley Captain Conference and Connections." Registration is strongly encouraged.

Saturday, October 5

10 a.m. - 12 p.m. - Alley Captain Conference & Connections
For current or interested alley captains and district council board/committee members.

11 a.m. - 2 p.m. - Snow Summit Exhibits & Open House 

Location: Dale Street Municipal Garage (891 Dale Street, Saint Paul, MN 55103)    
Cost: Free

The City is planning to record all educational presentations and/or live stream them the day of the event. Recordings will be made available on the City's website after the event.

Alley Captain Conference & Connections

Calling all Alley Captains past, present, and future! This is a special free, forum to bring together Saint Paul residents who are currently serving as the alley (or block) captain for your neighbors to learn from other alley captains. This conference is open to current and prospective alley captains - and anyone who is interested in learning more about how to organize their neighbors to get their alley plowed by the residents or a private contractor. This conference is also open to board and committee members of Saint Paul District Councils.

Alley Captain Conference Schedule

10 - 11 a.m. - Alley Captain Panel & Discussion
11:15 a.m. - 12 noon - Snow Emergency Overview & Ask the City Q&A

Stop by the "Alley Captain Connections Corner" during the Snow Summit from 12 noon - 2 p.m. to talk to other alley captains, share tips and best practices, and learn more about what it's like to be an alley captain and coordinate with your neighbors to plow your alley.

Snow Summit Exhibits & Open House 11 a.m. - 2 p.m.

Whether this is going to be your first winter in Saint Paul - or your 70th - stop by to learn about all the different programs and resources to help you prepare for the coming winter season. Visit with different exhibitor groups, organizations, and departments to enjoy fun activities. Check out the City's snow plows and equipment.

Parking and Transportation 

The Snow Summit event is located at 891 Dale Street, which is on Metro Transit's 65 bus line and near the 3 bus line. 

Free attendee parking is available on the Dale Street campus (follow signs to enter at the SOUTH gate) or use the on-street parking on either Topping or Burgess Streets on the east side of Dale Street.

Donate Mittens, Hats, and Scarves & Non-Perishable Food Items

Bring new or gently used mittens, hats, and scarves to the Snow Summit to be donated to people in need through the Saint Paul Public Works "Community Cupboard." The public may also donate non-perishable food items and hygiene products.

The Community Cupboard, located in the public right of way area in front of 891 Dale Street, is available for anyone in need. It is stocked through out the winter months through item donations from city staff and the general public.
