Description
The City of Saint Paul will be working with a contractor to make necessary sewer repairs throughout the City. These projects are funded by the sewer utility. There are no assessments to property owners.

Streets may be closed and no parking signs posted during sewer work.

Locations and tentative construction schedule

  • Mackubin Street and Van Buren Avenue - Scheduled to start April 8, anticipated to be completed by mid-May
  • St Albans Avenue and Grand Avenue - Scheduled to start May 13, anticipated to be completed by May 24
  • Rev Dr Martin Luther King Jr Boulevard and Central Park Avenue - anticipated to be completed by May 10
  • West 7th between Walnut Street and Chestnut Street - scheduled to be potholing to verify utility locations May 13 - 17 and the first week of June
  • Ohio Street between Alice/Winifred and Cherokee Avenue
  • In front of 4 Acker Street (near the intersection of Acker Street and Lightner Place)
  • Rice Street between Sherburne Avenue and Charles Avenue
  • Central Avenue and Oxford Street
  • 6th Street and Robert Street in downtown Saint Paul - completed (Note that other utility construction work is ongoing in this area.)
  • Crosby Farm Road between Gannon Road and Watergate Marina entrance from Shepard Road - Completed
  • St Paul Yacht Club parking lot - Completed
  • Kellogg Boulevard between Market Street and Wabasha Street and St. Peter between 4th Street and Kellogg Boulevard - February 26, 2024 - Completed

    Sewer work at St Albans Avenue and Grand Avenue - scheduled to start May 13

    Sanitary sewer work is scheduled to start at St Albans Avenue and Grand Avenue on May 13 and is anticipated to be completed by May 24. 

    • No parking will be allowed on both sides of Grand Avenue between Dale Street and Grotto Street. 
    • Vehicle traffic will be shifted. Please follow all signs and traffic control.

    Sewer work at northeast corner of Mackubin Street and Van Buren Avenue - scheduled to start April 8

    A contractor (PCi Roads) is working for Public Works Sewer Utility to complete storm sewer tunnel repair work on the northeast corner of Mackubin Street and Van Buren Avenue. This worksite and the access to the storm sewer tunnel are located within a city easement in front of 493 Van Buren Street.

    The work is scheduled to start April 8 and is anticipated to be completed by mid-May, weather permitting.

    Potential Pedestrian & Traffic Impacts:

    • Security chain link fencing will be setup to secure the work area.
    • Sidewalk adjacent to the work area will be closed.
    • No parking signs may be posted near the construction site. Please follow all posted signs.
    • Access to driveways will be maintained.

    Sewer work at 6th Street and Robert Street in downtown Saint Paul is completed

    Traffic control and construction work will continue in this area. Please follow all posted signs and traffic control.
