Burglar Alarm
Overview

A permit is required for all homes and businesses equipped with burglar alarm systems. If you have questions, contact DSI at (651) 266-8989, or email the DSI Message Center.



Code Requirements

See Chapter 329 of the Saint Paul Legislative Code for information on burglar alarm permits.


Application Requirements

You must submit the following:
  • Alarm Permit Application or an Online Alarm Permit Application - Apply Here
  • Key holder information must be provided on the application if the alarm system is not monitored
  • Required fee

On November 16, 2010 we will be migrating to a new application to process Alarm Permits.  The existing links will go to a new site that will be easier to use and more user friendly.

Expiration & Renewal

A Burglar Alarm License will expire one year from date of issuance and may be renewed annually.
