Steps to Becoming a Volunteer
  1. Submit a volunteer application.
  2. Meet with the Volunteer Coordinator, and sign an Agreement Form and Liability Waiver.
  3. Start volunteering!

 restoration-supervisors
Restoration Supervisors
help improve and maintain areas of high ecological significance in Saint Paul, assist with supervising volunteers during large habitat restoration events, and lead small volunteer events in the absence of staff.

Park Ambassadors
represent the many beautiful regional parks found throughout Saint Paul, creating safe and welcoming environments for visitors.

EcoStewards
are dedicated to preserving, protecting, and restoring natural areas and vital ecosystems in Saint Paul. Volunteers are needed to fight burdock in Como Regional Park on 7/16 and 7/17.




EcoSteward Description

Garden Stewards
care for the many gardens in Saint Paul by planting, weeding, mulching, and providing general garden maintenance. Garden Stewards can be groups or individuals. Note that Garden Stewards are currently only needed at the Dale Street Public Works building. Future gardening opportunities will be posted as needed.

are volunteer groups or individuals who assist in the upkeep and general beautification of Saint Paul's parks and trails.

Citizen Pruners
work with the City of Saint Paul and the University of Minnesota Department of Forest Resources to train local community members on tree pruning in Saint Paul.

Cottonwood Crew Members
are currently assisting the Mississippi River Fund with a cottonwood restoration experiment by collecting growth data as well as by monitoring, watering, and weeding the cottonwood plots at Lilydale Regional Park and Coldwater Spring. Volunteers will be trained and are asked to commit to a single three-hour shift each week.
