In 2007, a conceptual trail alignment plan was developed n conjunction with a Design Advisory Task Force.

Since 2007, various funding sources have been secured to construct Cherokee Regional Trail from Annapolis Street to Plato Boulevard. Construction is scheduled to begin Spring 2012 with a Fall 2012 completion date.  Construction plans are currently being reviewed by MnDOT and the City of Saint Paul for final comments.
