Assistant Chief Kathy Wuorinen oversees the support and administrative functions in the department. Under her command are Research & Grants, Human Resources, Technology Development & Support, Property & Information Services, Training, Fleet, Ordnance Disposal (Bomb Squad) and Police Chaplains.

Assistant Chief Robert Thomasser oversees the operations functions in the department. Under his command are the three patrol districts (Central, East, West), Citywide Services (Canine, Mounted Patrol, ACOP, Parking Enforcement, Motors, Traffic & Accident, Volunteer Services, Police Reserves, Permit and Event Planning), SWAT and Mobile Field Force.
