Saint Paul Parks and Recreation offers a wide range of internship opportunities for college students and graduates. Though many internship opportunities are unpaid, interns gain valuable skills and connections that very often lead to future opportunities with the City of Saint Paul, with other municipalities, and with other public and private sector organizations. Many current full-time Saint Paul Parks and Recreation staff also began as interns, working their way up through a stimulating career path.
Applicants must have completed at least one year of college to be considered and will be placed into programs according to their education level, their expertise, and the needs of the department. Types of work include accounting, marketing, clerical duties, park maintenance, programming for recreation centers or Como Park Zoo & Conservatory, environmentalism, tree planting, and more.
