Join the HREEO Commission and Help Shape Equity in Saint Paul
The Human Rights and Equal Economic Opportunity Commission (HREEOC) plays an important role in advancing equity, inclusion, and fair housing throughout Saint Paul. The Commission advises the Department of Human Rights and Equal Economic Opportunity (HREEO) on departmental policies, reviews department performance, and conducts studies, hearings, and investigations as needed.
The HREEOC also serves as the Fair Housing Council for discrimination cases that are unable to be resolved through conciliation.
Commission members help ensure community voices are represented in conversations surrounding civil rights, equal opportunity, and fair housing in Saint Paul.

Community Outreach Presentations & Events
Whether you live, work, or play in Saint Paul, our ordinances hold protections for you. Connect with us to arrange an outreach presentation or event, either in person or virtually. Staff will inform you about the Saint Paul ordinances that HREEO enforces and will answer your questions about the City’s:
- Human Rights -- Discrimination is illegal in Saint Paul
- Wage Theft, Minimum Wage, and Earned Sick & Safe Time (ESST) ordinances
- Civilian review of police misconduct
- Resources for greater language access and better access under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)
- CERT program that certifies small and local businesses
