Dec. 12-14 Closure Notice

Due to the forecasted extreme cold temperatures and wind chill, the Como Park Ski Center chalet and the Highland National chalet will be closed Dec. 12-14.

Lesson Registration

Registration for snowboard, downhill, and cross country ski lessons is now open.

Cross Country Ski Passes

Cross country ski passes may be purchased online, or in person at the Battle Creek, Highland, or Como Ski Chalet during open hours.

Ski & Snowboard Equipment Sale

The annual Ski & Snowboard Equipment Sale will be held in the Como Park Ski Center chalet on November 22 from 9am-2pm. Early entry is $5 and entry is free after 10am. Sponsored by the Como Park Snowsports Booster Club.

About Como Park Ski Center

Como Park Ski Center, also known as Mount Como, features two rope tows, a 150 foot vertical drop on 15 skiable acres, over 5K of groomed cross country trails, lessons for all ages and skill levels, and ski and snowboard rentals. Como Park Ski Center is located at 1431 North Lexington Parkway near Lake Como and the Como Park Zoo and Conservatory. The chalet is located inside the golf course clubhouse.

Hours and programs are weather-dependent and subject to change. Ticket sales end one hour before the hill closes. Advance equipment fittings are strongly encouraged for lesson participants.

Downhill, Cross-Country & Snowboard Lessons
Como Park Ski Center has lessons for all ski and snowboard levels. Students are grouped by ability for a more enjoyable experience. In order to pass to the next level, students must demonstrate the skills taught at their current level. The program prioritizes safety, fun, and learning. Helmets are required for all students.

Registration for snowboard, downhill, and cross country ski lessons will open on Wednesday, November 19 at 9am. Classes will be available to browse online starting Friday, November 14.

Equipment Rental Packages
Please note, due to our lesson program, equipment rentals are only available on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays during chalet hours.
- Skis, boots, and poles (downhill or cross country): $15
- Snowboard and boots: $15
Safety is our number one priority. Saint Paul Parks and Recreation Department reserves the right to cancel, postpone or move indoors any outdoor activity, should the forecasted temperature reach any combination of wind and temperature that is -25 degrees or colder, or if blizzard conditions occur.
The decision to cancel programs will be made a minimum of two hours prior to a program start time. Please check your email or call the chalet at 651-488-9673 for cancellation information.
If there is a weather cancellation during a program with multiple sessions, a make-up class will be held on the same day at the same time in the following weeks.
Cross-country classes/clinics are dependent on natural snow. If these programs are cancelled due to lack of snow, a full refund will be issued.
If you are experienced in downhill skiing, snowboarding, or cross-country skiing and want to share your skills with the community, consider working at Como Park Ski Center this winter! Lessons typically take place December through February on weekends and Wednesday and Thursday evenings. Training is scheduled to begin in November and salary will be dependent on experience.
