Member Requirements

Size: 23 members, of which the Mayor appoints 10 and the Ramsey County Board appoints 13.

Saint Paul Residency: Not required

Term: Two years

Powers & Duties
The board advises, consults with or makes recommendations to the Saint Paul City Council and the Ramsey County Board of Health on matters relating to policy development, legislation, maintenance, funding, and evaluation of community health services.

Additional Information
As much as possible the Committee shall be comprised of individuals who represent the following groups:
  • Persons interested in public health
  • Recipients of public health services
  • Public health professionals
  • Persons interested in labor
  • Licensed health professionals such as physicians, nurses and allied health professionals
