Blooming Saint Paul Day
Blooming Saint Paul Day, Saturday, May 18th
, is a day to promote volunteer gardening and to prepare public gardens for the coming growing season. 2013 is the first year for Blooming Saint Paul Day and we hope to have 250 volunteers helping in as many as 40 sites throughout Saint Paul.
On Saturday, May 18th, the Saint Paul Department of Parks and Recreation will assist volunteers working in public gardens with their garden preparations in the following ways:
- Free mulch will be delivered to the public gardens that request it the week prior to Blooming Saint Paul Day
- Free plants, to be used in Saint Paul public gardens, will be available for pick-up at the Como Central Service Facility, 1100 Hamline Avenue between 7:30am and 12:00pm on May 18th
- Free refreshments will be provided at the Como Central Service Facility from 7:30am - 12:00pm
- Parks and Recreation will pick up bagged garden debris to be hauled away for compost following the event

If you are already are involved in a public garden space, register and let us know that you will be fixing up your garden that day. If you are not already involved with a public garden, you can choose a neighborhood to volunteer in on the registration form.
