“Since 2002, local government aid has decreased by 24 percent while property taxes have increased by a total of $3.9 billion. This is an unacceptable burden on middle-class families in Saint Paul and throughout the state, and it’s why I’m so supportive of the Governor adding $80 million to stabilize local government aid.

“This funding begins to re-establish the State and local fiscal relationship and I applaud the Governor’s efforts. I urge the Legislature to pass this plan.
