The Saint Paul Police Professional Development Institute (PDI) is sponsoring a 2-day course PISTOL SKILLS FOR PLAIN CLOTHES ASSIGNMENTS.
This course is designed for officers working undercover or plain clothes. This course will cover techniques for shooting including stance, grip, and all related basics of pistol operation. This course will also cover practical shooting and tactical strategies for the plain clothes officer to include use of cover and concealment, shooting and moving, shooting from non-traditional positions, as well as techniques involving vehicles. This course also includes a classroom presentation covering equipment, tactics, and issues related to what a plain clothes officer will encounter.
Equipment: Participants will need a concealable holster to fit their duty weapon, a means of concealment (jacket, sweatshirt, over-sized shirt consistent with typical plain clothes wear), baseball type cap, and eye and ear protection. It is highly recommended that officers bring all items they carry while working plain clothes. We also recommend BDU’S.
Ammunition: Each student will need to bring 750 rounds of ball or practice ammunition.
