Background
Saint Paul Regional Water Services supplies reliable, quality water and services at a reasonable cost to the city of Saint Paul and neighboring communities.   We treat about 46 million gallons of water a day and distribute it through 1,100 miles of water main to more than 415,000 people.

What is Saint Paul Doing?
  • Using a conservation-based rate structure that discourages excessive water usage during summer months
  • Operating a leak detection unit that identifies and locates leaks to reduce water loss
  • Recycling construction material for re-use
  • Maintaining extensive forested areas in local watershed systems to protect source waters

  • Promoting energy conservation at Saint Paul Regional Water Services facilities
  • Working with Xcel Energy to reduce energy consumption and:
    • Performing energy audits on Saint Paul Regional Water Services buildings and the McCarron's Center
