Training Goals and Objectives

Through lectures, demonstrations, role play, and practical scenario applications this course is designed to  develop advanced level 2 instructors in the L.O.C.K.U.P. ® Police Combat – Arrest and Control System. Students will be instructed in legal aspects of use of force, physical applications of arrest and control engagements. Students will be instructed to use the force reasonable to control a violent resisting or combative suspect(s) and will be instructed in teaching methodologies needed to instruct physical applications, scenario exercises and drills to develop competency.  The focus is on developing a strong knowledge of immediate physical control tactics and techniques that is a reasonable, direct, and proportionate, response to all levels of resistance and aggression in multi types of environmental settings.

This course is instructed through a combination of lecture, physical hands on skills training, scenario exercises and drills. The course is to be delivered in a five day format; 0800 – 1700 eight hours in duration with one hour for lunch Maximum enrollment is 24 students.

Given a L.O.C.K.U.P.® Police Arrest and Control  Manual, Instruction a multiple choice examination  the learner  will  discuss  the psychophysiological dynamics of human aggression  and how it relates to their performance during close quarter engagements, with a minimum passing level of 100

Hand Gun Retention / Disarming

Given a L.O.C.K.U.P.® Police Arrest and Control  Manual, Instruction a  multiple choice and proficiency examination the learner  will perform, demonstrate and instruct handgun disarming techniques from the front, sides and rear positions, with a minimum passing level of 100%

Edged Weapon Defenses

Given a L.O.C.K.U.P.® Police Arrest and Control  Manual, Instruction a  multiple choice and proficiency examination the learner  will perform, demonstrate and instruct (4) Edged Weapon Defense  techniques listed below, with a minimum passing level of 100%

• Open Ended Triangle for A Forward Thrust
• Forearm Defense Against a Slashing Maneuver
• Defense Against an Overhead Attack
• Drop and Draw

Handcuffing

            Given a L.O.C.K.U.P.® Police Arrest and Control  Manual, Instruction a  multiple choice               and  proficiency examination the learner  will perform, demonstrate and instruct the                   nomenclature of the  hinged and chain link handcuffs, with a minimum passing level of               100%

Given a L.O.C.K.U.P.® Police Arrest and Control  Manual, Instruction a  multiple choice and proficiency  the learner  will perform, demonstrate and instruct the legal applications of handcuffing, with a minimum passing level of 100%

Given a L.O.C.K.U.P.® Police Arrest and Control  Manual, Instruction a  multiple choice and proficiency  the learner  will perform, demonstrate and instruct some recent civil cases regarding the applications of handcuffing, with a minimum passing level of 100%

Developing Safe and Realistic Training
