The Saint Paul Police Professional Development Institute (PDI) is sponsoring a 2-day course STREET SAFE: SURVIVING VIOLENT ENCOUNTERS.
This course will cover practical shooting and tactical strategies for dealing with violent situations that officers encounter. Tactical solutions for shooting on the move, shooting at moving targets, shooting from seated, prone and other non-traditional positions are also included. All students will participate in the Officer Reaction Course. This portion of the course utilizes our Hogan’s Alley. Each student will be run through force on force training scenarios using Simunitions and CQB tactics during realistic scenarios. This course also includes an updated classroom presentation covering new equipment, tactics, and trends in law enforcement use of force encounters.
Equipment: Participants will need to bring their duty weapon, a method of carry which is consistent with their duty assignment, three magazines, and eye and ear protection are required. Optional Knee and elbow pads, baseball style cap, and comfortable training clothing are highly recommended. Students will be on the ground for some drills.
Ammunition: Each student will need to bring 750 rounds of ball or practice ammunition.
