Tulip Poplar
Jefferson Avenue

Tulip trees are fast growing members of the magnolia family, often reaching heights of 100 feet and producing an impressive show of yellow blossoms in the early summer. While native to eastern North America, tulip trees are uncommon in Saint Paul and at the very edge of the tree's growing range making this tree located at 2055 Jefferson Avenue a unique specimen within the city. As an added benefit, the tree's placement within the landscape at the southwest corner of the house provides afternoon shade, helping reduce cooling costs for the homeowner.
