Como Regional Park Advisory Committee

Role:  The CRPAC will serve in an advisory capacity as part of the Parks and Recreation Commission structure.

Charge:  The CRPAC will be instrumental in ensuring the success of activities in Como Regional Park.  The committee will facilitate community input regarding issues affecting the park, and forward recommendations regarding the park to the Parks and Recreation Commission for consideration.

Goals: 


  • To review short and mid-term improvement options outlined in the Como Transportation Plan and make recommendations to the Parks and Recreation Commission for implementation that will provide solutions and improve traffic impact in and around the park.

  • To develop neighborhood communication strategies related to park development and operations

  • To discuss plans for a system of signage and way finding in Como Regional Park and make recommendations to the Parks and Recreation Commission.

  •  To facilitate initial discussions related to land use options for Como Golf Course and make recommendations to the Parks and Recreation Commission for consideration.
      

Commitment:  Members will serve a minimum two-year commitment on the committee and the group will meet once a month.  Committee status will be revisited as part of the 2013 Parks and Recreation Commission Work Plan.

  • Committee members will be expected to be available for approximately 2 hours per month for meetings. 
  • Committee meetings will be scheduled for the second Tuesday of each month for 2011 and 2012, beginning May 10.
  • The meetings will be held at the Como Streetcar Station (Horton & Lexington Pkwy.) from 6:30 – 8:30 PM.
  • Membership terms will run through December 2012.
