Youth Coach's Corner

Saint Paul Parks and Recreation youth sports would not be where we are today without the help and support from all our volunteers. 

To become a certified coach with Saint Paul Parks and Recreation, all coaches are required to:

1. Submit a background check every two years
2. Attend a one-hour basic certification clinic
3. Attend a sport skills certification clinic for a particular sport
4. Complete the online Heads Up Concussion Training once every three years. (See information below for additional information)

Basic and Sport Skills Certifications Clinics are offered multiple times a year for every sport. If interested in coaching, please contact a center near you.

2013 Coaching Certification Clinics
Interested in coaching youth sports? No experience needed. St. Paul Parks and Recreation offers various sport clinics for coaches. In these clinics, experienced instructors will provide coaches with drills and tips for coaching a particular sport. To sign up for a clinic, please register through your recreation center director.

    Concussion Training

    All Coaches, Directors, and Administrators are required by law to take and complete an online training course on concussions every three years. The link for this website can be found below.

    Heads Up Concussion Training 

    When completed, please email or fax the final page of the test to Municipal Athletics for verification that the test was completed.
