Overview
With 500 hanging baskets, 220,000 square feet of gardens and more than 150 planters to plant and maintain, Saint Paul Parks and Recreation’s gardening team simply can’t do it alone. Garden Stewards are volunteer groups or individuals who help the Gardening staff create a beautiful and pleasant atmosphere within the Saint Paul parks system. They help care for ornamental gardens throughout the City by planting, weeding, mulching and providing general garden maintenance. In 2010, 48% of all Park gardens were maintained with the help of Garden Stewards.
