Counseling, Coaching and Therapy Services

The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) director is the coordinator for the Saint Paul Police Department’s EAP program. The director is a sworn member of the police department, who has the ability to empathize with common issues that may occur with sworn and non-sworn personnel, and issues that may arise in police family dynamics.

The current EAP director is Sgt. Constance Bennett. She has a B.A. Degree in Organizational Management and Human Services, and a M.A. Degree in Mental Health Counseling

The EAP Program was as created to provide confidential counseling, therapy referrals and assistance with other specialized mental health services.  These services are provided to both sworn and non-sworn personnel, along with family members.  EAP also provides assistance to outside surrounding police agencies and their families.

EAP is available to help with short-term counseling for a variety of issues. Some typical concerns may include emotional problems, work-related or personal stress, relationship difficulties, and chemical dependence. The EAP counselors are also available for critical incident debriefings and to help officers and their families with a post shooting response.

The EAP program takes great pride in serving the Saint Paul Police department and our surrounding police communities.  We have created partnerships with professional licensed providers to provide police and civilian personnel with the most professional counseling, therapy and specialized mental health services available. These professional licensed providers have years of experience working with law enforcement personnel and their families.
