Orientation

Youth Job Corps

All applicants who are eligible for YJC are required to attend an orientation. Applicants are required to bring their original social security card and driver’s license or school identification card with a current picture to satisfy I-9 requirements for hiring. Applicants without these items will not be permitted to attend orientation.

In addition, applicants may be asked to provide documentation to verify information from their application and a signed parental permission form. This may include verification of household income, age, residency, disability, etc. Requests for documentation will be included in the applicant’s orientation letter. The inability to verify details upon request will result in the applicant’s ineligibility for the program.

Orientation topics will include going over payroll procedures, completing payroll packets, and talking about the next steps to take in your summer job search.

All of this information is included in the applicant’s orientation letter. Youth who do not provide the requested documentation will not be admitted to orientation.

See the PDF files below for more information on how to verify your YJC eligibility and to see a list of acceptable I-9 documents.
