The responsibilities of the advisory panel are to review and evaluate existing ordinances, policies, procedures and programs regarding the beautification of Saint Paul’s urban and neighborhood areas; research issues affecting the health and physical character of the urban environment; research issues of plantings in relation to residential and business properties; advise and make recommendations to the Parks Commission and Director on such issues regarding the urban setting of Saint Paul.
The panel consists of 17 members:
- 7 citizens, one resident representing each of the seven wards
- 1 member representing the district planning councils
- 1 member representing private horticulture/gardening/landscaping business
- 1 member from the Parks Commission
- 1 staff member from Parks & Recreation, Design Section
- 1 staff member from Public Works, Design Section
- 1 staff member from Planning and Economic Development
- 1 staff member from Riverfront Corporation
- 1 staff member from Marjorie McNeely Conservatory
- 1 member representing the Ramsey County Master Gardeners
- 1 member representing the Saint Paul Garden Club
