Public Education
The Public Education Program of the Saint Paul Fire Department has evolved to prevent unintentional injuries among high-risk populations. The focus is based on empirical data gathered by the Centers for Disease Control, Minnesota Department of Public Health, and from the Department’s EMS run reports. Data is gathered to determine issues of focus and corresponding high-risk populations.  These risk areas include:
  • Falls
  • Motor vehicles
  • Bikes
  • Choking
  • Pedestrians
  • Poisoning
  • Burns
  • Water
  • Unintentional firearm injuries
