Every effort is made to honor citizen planting requests, however, some situations prohibit planting in specific areas.  For example, if there is only one location for the tree and utilities (gas or electric) run under that area, a tree will not be planted.  If planting on the boulevard is not possible, the Forestry department will inform the caller of the situation.

Please see the Tree Placement Criteria section to learn more about city planting guidelines.

Citizen Requests

  • Citizens may request that a tree be planted on their boulevard if the area is not scheduled for planting that year.
  • Forestry staff will inspect the boulevard to determine whether or not it is suitable for a tree.
  • As the City plants trees on a District rotation, losing a tree one year does not mean that tree will be replaced the following year.  However, you can call to request a tree and Forestry staff will try to accommodate your request.
  • Funding of citizen requests is dependent on adequate budget appropriation.
