A body repair shop is a shop which is in the business of making major or substantial repairs to the shell or body of an automobile, including frame-straightening, dent repair, and replacement or repair of parts, but not including any painting. The auto body repair shop license does not include general auto repair nor auto body with paint shop. You must obtain a separate license for general auto repair and/or upgrade your auto body repair license to include painting shop.

This license requires inspection approvals from the Saint Paul Fire Department (Ph: (651) 266-8989), Licensing [(h: (651) 266-8989) and Zoning (Ph: (651) 266-9008).

The annual fee for an Auto Body Repair Garage License is $431.00 per location.

The Auto Body Repair Garage License will expire one year from date of issuance and may be renewed annually.
