As provided in the Saint Paul City Charter, the City Attorney’s Office represents the City "in all causes in which the City is interested and shall have full and complete charge of the legal business of the City."

As a part of that representation, the City Attorney Office represents the Mayor, City Council, Council Research and all of the City’s departments established by the Charter and by ordinance.
