Saint Paul’s Youth Job Corps (YJC) program is now seeking applications from Saint Paul organizations and businesses who are interested in providing a meaningful work experience for a young person. The YJC program connects Saint Paul youth and young adults with meaningful training, work, and career exploration opportunities so they are prepared to thrive and prosper.
The YJC program subsidizes the wages of Saint Paul youth who are economically disadvantaged or at-risk, ages 14-24, with opportunities for paid summer employment and career development.
Organizations and businesses that are interested in providing a subsidized work experience during the summer of 2013 are asked to complete and submit an “Employer Worksite Application.” Applications are available online at www.stpaul.gov/yjc and are due Friday, Jan. 25, 2013 at 4:30 p.m.
The City of Saint Paul Parks and Recreation Department began the YJC program in January 2004, and has helped provide valuable career skills and employed more than 5,000 Saint Paul youth since the inception.
