SAINT PAUL—Effective January 1, 2012, the Saint Paul City Council has amended the city’s affirmative action ordinance to require the Department of Human Rights and Equal Economic Opportunity to certify that entities have an affirmative action plan filed with the director of the Department of Human Rights and Equal Economic Opportunity and to collect a fee of $75 from these entities to cover the costs of certifying their compliance with the affirmative action ordinance.
The City of Saint Paul requires a certificate of affirmative action compliance for entities contracting with the City of Saint Paul in the amount of fifty thousand dollars ($50,000) or more over a twelve month period. The certificate of compliance document demonstrates that the recipient has an affirmative action plan that has been filed with the director of the Department of Human Rights and Equal Economic Opportunity and that the entity is in compliance with the affirmative action ordinance.
